Bali: Rafting Ayung River
The company we booked with took us off from the hotel and brought us to the shop of the tour operator. where we got our equipment and the guide drove us together with other people close to the river. Here, we had to walk down 600 meters of stairs.
First you have to work hard...
The river itself leads through different currents and rapids through the jungle in Ubud. Here, it starts pretty fast right from the beginning. Sometimes you underestimate the speed of the water.
Of course, you have to be careful with the Bali rafting in front of the numerous stones, which protrude from the water.
Even if it collides, the rubber inflatable dampens the impact as much as possible.
From time to time, we also met other groups of people from many different countries. The water is also a bit slower and calmer in some parts. Here you can sit back and relax and see the jungle landscape. It also depends on how heavy the rain has been in recent times. If it has rained more heavily, then the currents are usually a bit faster..
All in all, the rafting was partly turbulent, but sometimes very relaxed. Since the rafting tour lasted several hours, one feels exhausted at the end.
The tour ends with a walk back to the shop of the operator. Here we picked up our valuables. In addition, there were showers, toilets and changing rooms, where we could freshen up.
For the grand finale, we served ourselves with a lunch buffet. The food was ok, but not so special.
The rafting was quite a fun experience. You should book it as well. We paid around 500.000 Rupiah per person.
