If you see a picture of rice terraces in Bali on Instagram & Co., chances are that this is the Tegallalang rice terraces.

On the main street are some small shops with typical souvenirs for tourists. If you go down the first stairs to the rice terraces, you will also find a few restaurants. You can then go down the stairs and down the small paths of the rice fields and climb up the other side. At various stages, farmers stand as a kind of lock and require tolls. Only then may one explore the terraces further.

These rice terraces are very touristy but also very impressive. However, there are other rice terraces on the east side of the island which are 100% natural and which I would strongly recommend if you have some time to travel to the east of the island.
