Hotel Delamar is a very new, modern 4* hotel in the heart of Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava for guests over the age of 18. Both the age requirement and the sophisticated, elegant layout suggest the hotel is aimed at couples in search of a relaxing trip away. The hotel is located right on the main street spitting distance from the local clubs and a variety of restaurants and bars. This provides a wide range of activities at ease but comes at a cost; there is no parking available nearby for those of you with vehicles.

The hallways are quite monotone with the black and white colour theme and pictures on the wall, this gives a sort of cruise ship feeling; perfect for couples I guess. Each door in Hotel Delamar has an electronic lock activated by a key card.

The room has a rather plain design with the wooden floors, white walls and black furniture. It was clean, the size was okay and the mattress was of average comfort. There was a nice sized flat-screen television on top of a rack equipped with shelves, a safe, drawers and a clothes rail; great for storage. There was also a table for dining with a kettle for hot drinks to fuel your tea or coffee addiction.

The bathroom is extremely modern with a regular shower head and a rainshower system above. There is also a large rectangular mirror as well as a magnifying mirror and a hairdryer beside the sink. Please note that my bathroom was designed for disabled access so regular bathrooms will differ in features and size.

Each room has a balcony with chairs overlooking the hotel grounds. There is an outdoor swimming pool with deck chairs that is great for lounging in the sun, there is also a pool bar to quench your thirst or to get your partying off to an early start.

There is a large lobby and bar area but it is usually quite busy and noisy. I also always felt a cold breeze when inside the hotel so I would not recommend relaxing and working in the common areas if you are easily disturbed and instead venturing out to surrounding cafes. However, I would insist on you grabbing breakfast in the hotel before you do so as there is a fantastic variety of food available for you to feast on.

Breads, pastries, cakes, fruit, fresh juices and everything you need to make a full English breakfast. You will be spoilt for choice every morning in the hotel’s restaurant where you can enjoy your meal in a peaceful environment under the hanging lights.
